You can only use the Fixed package if:&nbsp;<ul><li>The share of corporate and foreign consumer card transactions is below 2%,&nbsp;</li><li>The monthly average basket value exceeds HUF 10,000 / EUR 25.&nbsp;</li></ul>If either condition is not met, you will automatically be placed in the IC++ package.&nbsp; Important: If you are reassigned to IC++ for this reason, you cannot switch back to Fixed later, even if the conditions are met again.&nbsp;

How is it decided whether I will be placed in the Barion Smart Gateway Fixed or Barion Smart Gateway IC++ package?

With the Barion Smart Gateway Fixed package, every transaction costs the same, regardless of card type or origin. This makes it easier to plan your costs.&nbsp;The Barion Smart Gateway IC++ package charges different fees per card transaction, made up of the following components:&nbsp;<ul><li>Interchange (IC): An interbank commission paid to the card-issuing bank. Rates are set by international card networks.&nbsp;</li><li>Scheme fee (+): Charged by Visa or Mastercard. Also determined by international card schemes.&nbsp;</li><li>Plus (+): Barion’s merchant fee, which we define. What’s the difference between Barion Smart Gateway Fixed and Barion Smart Gateway IC++ packages?

Yes, every month by the 15th we review your shop’s average turnover over the past 3 months.&nbsp;If you reach the next fee tier, you’ll be automatically upgraded to a more favorable package.&nbsp;If your shop’s turnover later drops, you can still keep the better rates.

Will my fee tier change automatically if my turnover increases?

If you disagree with the new terms, you can terminate your contract free of charge and with immediate effect by June 1, 2025:&nbsp; ✉️ By email&nbsp; 📱 Through the Barion Wallet interface&nbsp;Your new package will be assigned by June 15, 2025. From then until August 15, 2025, you can still cancel free of charge and immediately. If the new fee is higher and you do not accept it, we will refund the difference in any excess fees paid during the notice period.&nbsp;If you don’t raise any objections, we will consider the new terms as accepted.&nbsp;

What happens if I do not accept the new pricing? 

Yes, if you continue to meet both conditions every month:&nbsp;<ul><li>The combined share of corporate and foreign consumer card transactions remains below 2%&nbsp;</li><li>The average basket value exceeds HUF 10,000&nbsp;</li></ul>If you fail to meet these, you’ll be reassigned to IC++, and cannot return to Fixed later.&nbsp;

Can I stay in the Barion Smart Gateway Fixed package long-term? 

If you implement the Full Barion Pixel on your website according to Barion’s guidelines, and clearly display the payment method logos, you may qualify for discounted pricing equivalent to the former Advanced level, even within the new packages.&nbsp;This can result in better pricing tiers for both Barion Smart Gateway Fixed and Barion Smart Gateway IC++ packages.&nbsp;The Barion Pixel is a tracking code that helps you analyze shopper behavior on your website – for example, cart abandonment, purchase paths, or conversion rates – supporting your marketing and business decisions.&nbsp;

What is Full Barion Pixel and what do I gain from it? 

Based on your turnover, we’ll calculate whether you belong in the Fixed or IC++ package starting June 2, 2025, and notify you by June 15, 2025.&nbsp;After June 15, 2025, you’ll also be able to see your current package in the Barion Wallet, under Shop Details.

When will I find out which package I’ve been assigned to? 

We review your shop's traffic data monthly (average turnover, card share, basket value, Full Pixel status).&nbsp;Automatic changes are applied based on the results of these reviews.&nbsp;

When can my package or pricing tier change automatically?

All online services require a username and a password for access, which means everyone uses dozens of passwords every day. Without a dedicated password manager, sharing passwords, using the same ones on different sites, and creating simple, easy-to-guess passwords are quite common, and makes it easier for hackers to gain access to accounts.&nbsp;
When you add your app as an authenticator, your password is replaced either with biometric authentication (fingerprint-, or face recognition), or your PIN, which is specific to the device you own. These are extremely difficult to recreate, and you don’t have to remember them.
Barion implements FIDO2, which is the collective term for the Fast Identity Online Alliance’s newest set of strong authentication standards and protocols.&nbsp;FIDO2 offers a passwordless authentication solution, so you don’t need to remember complex passwords, or go through tedious password reset processes. I got a "Your phone isn't secure" error – what should I do?

Rest assured if you happen to lose your device; the recovery process is straightforward. In most cases, you may only need to log in with your Apple ID or Google account on the new device, download the Barion app, and log in as you did previously. What if I need to delete an authentication method?

Identity verification means verifying the identity of our clients, their beneficiaries, representatives and beneficial owners based on documents. As the registered seat of Barion is in Hungary, we must perform identity verification according to the requirements of the Hungarian “Act on the Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing” (Act LIII of 2017) and its regulatory technical standards.

What is identity verification and why is it necessary?

Individuals are identified by online-only
 video identification. No need to appear in person at our offices, and the process takes about 5 minutes.

To start video identification, follow these steps:

How are individuals identified?

Barion deposits the money on your Barion Wallet as soon as the transferred money arrives to its bank account. The time this takes depends on the banks involved.
Domestic money transfers (e.g. topping-up a Czech account from the Czech Republic or a Hungarian account from Hungary) can go through on the same day, up to 5 pm on business days.
International money transfers usually require several days to go through.
If there are any issues with your top-up, send us a message in your Barion Wallet&#39;s <a href="https://secure.barion.com/Remark">Customer center</a> menu item.

How can I top up my Barion Wallet?

You can check the top-up fees by bank card and bank transfer in the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.barion.com/en/prices-and-conditions/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Prices and Conditions of Barion</a>.

How much does it cost to top up my Barion Wallet?

On the Topup&gt;Wire transfer screen, you&#39;ll find all the data you need from Barion to top up your Barion Wallet via bank transfer to a Barion Payment account.
Note that your bank may request further information.
Copy the details to your clipboard, and enter them in your bank&#39;s mobile app or desktop client to start the bank transfer.
Note that unlike the other supported currencies, where there&#39;s a virtual IBAN generated for bank transfer top-ups, wire transfer top-ups in CZK use the Barion deposit account. Because of this, a unique reference number is needed to identify your Barion Wallet in the deposit account payment history, that the system pre-fills for you in the wire transfer details.

How can I top up my Barion Wallet by bank transfer?

We will credit the money to your Barion Wallet when the transferred money arrives to our bank account. The time this requires to go through always depends on the speed of the settlement systems of the banks involved. Domestic money transfers (e.g. topping-up a Czech account from the Czech Republic or a Hungarian account from Hungary) go through on the same day, until 17:00 on working days. International money transfers usually require several days to go through, except for EUR.

How long does it take for the money to get to my Barion Wallet if I top it up with bank transfer?

With international money transfers, the final amount that gets deposited in your Barion Wallet is determined by the transfer type, currency conversion rates, and <a href="https://www.barion.com/en/prices-and-conditions/">the applicable top-up fees</a> payable for topping up.

I topped up my Barion Wallet by transferring from abroad, but my balance increased by a smaller amount. Why?

If the money ought to have arrived according to the description, please log in to your wallet and send a message to our customer service desk in the <a href="https://secure.barion.com/Remark" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Customer center</a> menu item by describing the details. You will need a Barion Wallet and you should download the Barion application to your mobile phone. It's important that you only use HUF currency to park. You can use the application to start a parking session in Hungary, in the parking zones operated by National Mobile Payment System.After opening the Barion application on your mobile phone and logging in, tap on the letter&nbsp;P&nbsp;in the top row, or select the&nbsp;Parking&nbsp;option in the&nbsp;Barion Market&nbsp;item in the menu. If you have not had a parking session yet, then you get to the form for recording a new license plate: give here the license plate, the country of registration and type of the vehicle, then tap on the&nbsp;Next&nbsp;icon in the top right corner. If you have already used the Barion application for parking, select the vehicle with the license plate of which you used previously and you wish to park with, select the number of the parking zone, tap on the&nbsp;Next&nbsp;icon in the top right corner and check, on the next screen, the successful starting of the parking session and also the details.Important!&nbsp;Barion deducts the parking fee from the balance of your wallet, so do not forget to check before the parking session whether the amount in your wallet is enough to cover the parking fee!

How can I start a parking session with Barion?

If you have already added a license plate, then press the registration number in the parking screen. You will see a list of your saved license plates in the next screen. You can edit them, even add new ones or delete previous ones, in the right corner. You can select the license plate you want to use for a parking session in this screen. The parking screen will show the license plate you used for the last parking session by default.

How can I manage license plates in the application?

When you stop the parking session, choose the answer&nbsp;Yes&nbsp;for the question&nbsp;„Would you like to get an invoice for your parking session?”, and you get to the&nbsp;Invoicing data&nbsp;page. If you have already had parking sessions and asked for invoices, or you have provided the data in your Barion Wallet, then these fields will have been filled in already, but you can change them, of course. Here, you can set that the data you are giving will be the default invoicing data. The electronic invoice issued will be sent to the email address provided at the registration of the Barion Wallet.

How can I stop the parking session?

&nbsp;If you have registered as a company or organisation, then after the stopped parking we automatically send you the invoice via email (to the data which are stored in our system, what was given by you at the registration).&nbsp;If you have registered as an individual, then when you stop the parking session, choose the answer Yes for the question Would you like to get an invoice for your parking session?, and you get to the Invoicing data page. If you have already had parking sessions and asked for invoices, or you have provided the data in your Barion Wallet, then these fields will have been filled in already, but you can change them, of course. Here, you can set that the data you are giving will be the default invoicing data. The electronic invoice issued will be sent to the email address provided at the registration of the Barion Wallet.

How can I ask for an invoice on the parking session?

Yes, but you should consider that, according to the relevant legislative requirements, we can issue the invoice on the date of the parking session only.You can do this by selecting the parking session in question in the application, then tap the Invoice icon in the top right corner. If you had not do this on the day of your parking session, then we cannot issue the invoice for you subsequently.

Can I request an invoice for the parking session subsequently?

You can have as much ongoing parking sessions as you like, but, logically, you can launch only one parking session for the same license plate (in one zone). If more of you park on the same lot, then you can launch the parking session for all the vehicles.

Can I have multiple active parking sessions?

If you have accidentally mistyped the license plate and you have not started the parking session yet, tap on the registration number to modify it still before starting the parking. If you have already started the parking session, stop it quickly. If you do that during the first minute after starting the parking session, you won’t have to pay anything. After ending the parking session, you do not have to do anything, but start a new parking with the correct license plate.

I have mistyped my license plate number. What should I do?

Yes, you can. When you record the new license plate, select the country of your vehicle from the list—this can be any country of the world; then enter the registration number, and everything will go as if it was a Hungarian license plate.

Can I have parking sessions with a non-Hungarian license plate?

Yes! Your license plate and the discount associated with it remains registered in the parking system, so you can park your car for the same rate, regardless of the parking application you use.

Previously I could park my car at a discount rate in a given zone, does it remain so if I use Barion for parking?

The convenience fee is the sum of the wholesale transaction fee (40 HUF) determined by the Hungarian National Mobile Payment Inc. and the profit which is different for each reseller (Barion’s is 10 HUF). If you use Barion for parking, this is 50 HUF per parking session; it is much lower than that of other resellers.

What is the convenience fee?

Unlike other service providers, Barion is an universal instrument of payment, you can use it for purposes other than parking as well; you can transfer money to your friends or use it for shopping. If you did not want to use it, you can withdraw your balance to an optional bank account.

What happens to my money I used to top up my Barion Wallet with if I do not wish to use it for parking?

All parking-related communication goes via internet connection.

If the application does not text you and does not start a call, than how does parking take place?

In that case you cannot start or end a parking session.

What happens if there is no internet connection?

No. Internet connection is only necessary to start and stop the parking sessions, or if you check the application in the meantime to see what the current amount of your parking charge is, or the system wants to send you a notification regarding your parking.

Do you need constant internet connection for parking sessions?

If you cannot end or start your parking session for any reason, contact our customer service desk via our website.

What should I do if I cannot end/start my parking session?

If you had an ongoing valid Barion parking session but you have got still fined, contact our customer service desk. Or, if your parking session ended “on its own”, then please also notify us and we will investigate the case.

I had a valid parking session going on, I still got a fine. What should I do?

It might happen that the application detects multiple zones for certain parking lots, and you must select the right one. If you accidentally make the wrong choice and get fined for that, then it is worth notifying the customer service desk of the parking company provided in the bottom of the order for payment, within 5 working days, that you paid for the parking but in the wrong zone. You will have to attach a copy of the demand for payment and the identifier of the parking session. The customer service desk of the relevant parking company will investigate the case and decide if the mistake is understandable in your case and whether they do not collect the fine.

Parking on a ZONE BORDER. What should you do if you have chosen the wrong zone code?

It is worth calculating when the 15 calendar days will expire, and if no response comes until than, then you should pay the lower fine that is payable within 15 calendar days. In such cases, if they remit the sanction on an equitable basis, you will get back the money already paid.

Parking on a ZONE BORDER. What if no response comes in 15 calendar days and the higher fine applies?

You can start a parking session in a zone during its chargeable parking period. You can get this message if you do not have to pay in that zone any more, or yet. The message will also inform you when the chargeable period starts.

I have got the message “You do not need to pay for the parking until:”. What does that mean?

There are parking zones which limit the types of vehicles that can be parked in them. You get this message if parking is not allowed for the vehicle category you have given in the zone concerned.

I have got the message “You cannot start a parking session with this vehicle category in the given zone”. Why is that?

The application sends this error message if a parking session of yours is already ongoing in the zone concerned based on the license plate you provided.

I have got the error message “A parking session of yours is already ongoing”. What does that mean?

To start a parking session, you must have a certain amount; the parking charges can also be deducted from your prepaid balance. This amount depends on the parking zone. If the application is sending you this message, it means that your Barion balance is lower than the minimum amount of the given zone. You can learn about top-up options in the Topup menu item after logging in.

I have got the error message “There are not funds enough in your Barion Wallet to start the parking session”. What does that mean?

The Barion system communicates with the National Mobile Payment System during parking sessions. An error in the communication between the systems might occur, and this will render the execution of parking operations (start, end) unsuccessful. In such cases we recommend that you try to execute the operation a bit later.

I have received the error message “An error occurred in the communication with the National Mobile Payment System, we cannot execute the parking operation”. What does that mean?

The mobile application cannot communicate with the Barion system for some reason. In such cases we recommend that you try to execute the operation a bit later.

I have got the error message “Barion communication error”. What does that mean?

After opening the Barion application, click on the Menu in the upper left corner (3 lines), then to the „Barion Market” menu item, and you can find the „Highway vignette” option. This function is only appears at the field of Hungary. When you buy a vignette, you need to select the license plate number, then the vignette type, and you can set up your billing information (if you want an invoice for it). Then you can pay with your Barion balance or with your bank card (with new or with already saved card). In the same place, within the Highway vignette menu, you can check at the „Vignettes” which vignette you have already bought from us, how long it is valid, etc.Important! Be sure to purchase the vignette for the correct license plate and data, as this cannot be changed afterwards!Important! Please note that if you have failed to request an invoice, there is no way to request a subsequent invoice!

 Purchase of a highway vignette

Anyone with a Barion Wallet can send money to existing email addresses, even if these don&#39;t have an associated Barion Wallet. In such cases, the recipient won&#39;t be able to access the money until they register a Barion Wallet. The recipient gets a Barion registration link, which stays active for seven days.
If you already have a Barion Wallet, but with a different email address, get in touch as soon as you receive the email with the registration link.

Barion sent me an email that somebody sent me money. What does this mean and what should I do?

This might happen if your friend has not sent the money to the email address you are registered with in Barion. To take the money, click on the link in the mail, then select the option that you request that the money is credited to your existing Barion Wallet, then enter your email address and password—and the money is yours!

I have got an email that somebody sent me money using Barion and that I should register, though I already have a Barion Wallet. What should I do?

If anybody sends you money, you will be informed via email. After logging in, you can also check the details of the transfer on the History page.

Where can I see that I have received money?

If you already have a Barion Wallet, then you will immediately get the amount.

How long does it take for me to get money sent with Barion?

How can I transfer money with Barion?

Yes, you can, because to transfer money, it is absolutely not necessary that the payee has a Barion Wallet. All you need to do is giving his/her email address on the&nbsp;<a href="https://secure.barion.com/Transfer?successfulLogin=True" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Send money&nbsp;</a>page and transfer him/her the money. The recipient will be notified in an email that you have sent him/her money, and he/she will also get a link in the email, which he/she can use to register in a minute and will be able to see the money you sent him/her in his/her wallet.Important!&nbsp;He/she can do that in the week following the transfer. If he/she does not register during this period, then we will send back the amount to you.

Can I transfer money to somebody who does not have a Barion Wallet?

Select the&nbsp;History&nbsp;menu item where you can see all your previous transactions. If the details of a particular transaction reveal whether the person in question has taken the money (delivered), the transaction is pending, and if yes, then until when can he/she take it, or the transaction was unsuccessful, meaning that the one week available for taking the money has expired.

Where can I see whether anybody who has not got a Barion Wallet yet has taken the money I sent to him/her?

Transfer does not and will not cost anything.

Is there a transfer fee?

If you sent money to a non-existent email address, you&#39;ll get the money back after seven days. If the recipient&#39;s email address exists, they will get the money you sent.
Incorrectly credited amounts can&#39;t be refunded once they&#39;ve been removed from target Barion Wallet.

What should I do if I sent the money to a wrong email address?

If the recipient has a Barion Wallet, then the amount will arrive there immediately upon transaction approval. If you send money to somebody who does not have a Barion Wallet yet, then he/she will get it when he/she registers and activates his/her wallet.

How long does it take for the money to arrive if it is sent with Barion?

Click or tap History to display all the transactions, and tap the record itself, or click the icon next to a transaction record to see further details.

How can I check the history of my wallet?

Go to Wallet&gt;Cards, and click Delete card online, and the Other>My banks cards>Edit screen in the Barion app.

How can I delete my saved bank card?

You can save a card's data when you first use it to top up your balance or make a payment.

How can I save a new bank card?

If you haven&#39;t yet <a href="https://www.barion.com/en/help/personal/raise-the-limits-of-your-personal-account/what-is-identification-and-why-is-it-necessary/">identified yourself</a>, you can change your personal data online on the Wallet&gt;Profile or in the Barion app on the Other&gt;Profile&gt;Edit screen.
Once you&#39;ve identified yourself, you&#39;ll need to reach out to Barion customer care to update personal details that have changed.
