Why are there limits on my Barion Wallet?

Barion complies with financial regulations, and implements specific limits for top-up, withdrawal, and transactions based on the customer's identification level. There are three levels: "Waiver," "Simplified Due Diligence" (SDD), and "Normal Due Diligence" (NDD).

You can see your current limits online on the Wallet>Limits screen.

Note that the amounts in various currencies are added up for the purpose of deciding whether you've exceeded a limit.

If you exceed any limits, your Barion Wallet is suspended, and you'll need to request a Barion Wallet verification.

Note that even if the limits are reached, the Barion Smart Gateway will continue to work for you if you're a shop owner, and you'll continue to get all the transaction amounts spent in your webshop.

Non-business Barion Wallets start out at the "Waiver" level. If you don't provide additional personal data, your total balance cannot exceed HUF 45,000/EUR 120/CZK 3,200/USD 140. You can use your Barion Wallet up to this limit each month. However, money transfers to others are not allowed at this level, and the maximum annual withdrawal amount is HUF 260,000/EUR 800/CZK 20,000/USD 800.

Moving to the "Simplified Due Diligence" level requires filling out the complete datasheet during registration, or later in the Wallet>Profile menu. Personal or business Barion Wallets at this level have a Barion balance capped at HUF 300,000/EUR 900/CZK 22,500/USD 900. E-money transfers are unlimited, but withdrawals are limited to HUF 260,000/EUR 800/CZK 20,000/USD 800 per year.

To remove all restrictions, you must undergo a comprehensive due diligence process to reach the "Normal Due Diligence" level.
