General Terms for Pricing Packages and Fee Calculation

Defining the conditions for selecting the Barion Smart Gateway Fix and Barion Smart Gateway IC++ pricing packages

General Conditions

When creating a Shop, the merchant can choose between the Barion Smart Gateway Fix or IC++ pricing packages.

The Barion Smart Gateway Fix package is only valid if the following conditions are met simultaneously:

  • The average monthly cart value when using the Barion Smart Gateway is at least HUF 10,000 / CZK 620 / EUR 25 / USD 25. If the shop operates in multiple currencies, the average monthly cart value is determined in the primary currency. In the case of multiple currencies, the value is calculated based on the last cross exchange rate (https://www.barion.com/en/legal-information) on the day before the date of the evaulation
  • The combined share of corporate and foreign consumer bank cards does not exceed 2% of total monthly turnover. A foreign bank card is defined as one issued in a country different from the shop's registered country

Barion reviews these conditions monthly. If any condition is not met, Barion has the right to switch the pricing package to the corresponding turnover tier of the Barion Smart Gateway IC++ package no later than the 15th day of the following calendar month. If a pricing package change occurs for this reason, the shop will no longer be eligible for the Barion Smart Gateway Fix package in the future, even if they later meet the required conditions.

Fee Calculation Basis

Unless stated otherwise, percentage-based fees are calculated based on the total transaction amount.

Monthly Average Turnover Calculation

The monthly average turnover includes the total amount of transactions made via bank card acceptance, Barion balance payments, and bank transfers. If the shop operates in multiple currencies, the monthly average turnover is determined in the primary currency. The calculation is based on the last cross exchange rate (https://www.barion.com/en/legal-information) on the day before the date of the evaulation.

For a new shops:

In the absence of actual online bank card monthly turnover, the fees applicable for up to HUF 5 million in average monthly turnover under the Barion Smart Gateway Fix or Barion Smart Gateway IC++ packages will be charged. The turnover category will be reviewed for the first time after two full calendar months following the shop’s approval by Barion, based on the average monthly turnover: the total turnover achieved by the shop in the previous two full calendar months, divided by 2.

For a Shop operating for at least 3 full calendar months:

The monthly average turnover is reviewed every month, based on the last three full calendar months. The calculation formula: (Total turnover in the last three full months) / 3. The first review for a new shop occurs in the month after completing three full calendar months, and then it continues on a monthly basis.

Fee Change Due to Turnover Tier Exceedance

If the shop exceeds the turnover tier specified in the fee table even once, the higher fee tier will be applied no later than the 15th day of the following month. After this adjustment, the shop remains in the new turnover tier regardless of whether their monthly average turnover decreases later.

Transitional Provisions

The effective date of this Fee Schedule is June 2, 2025. The first reviews and pricing package reclassifications related to online payment acceptance fees will be based on this effective date. Any fee adjustments resulting from this review will be implemented no later than June 15, 2025, as follows:

Merchants currently on the Starter, Advanced, or any previously valid pricing package will be reclassified into either the Barion Smart Gateway Fix or IC++ package under these transitional rules. As of June 2, 2025, the Starter, Advanced, and all previous pricing packages will be discontinued and replaced with the pricing packages listed in this Fee Schedule.
